The General Overseer, Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has described Governor. Yahaya Bello was a man of faith whose handling of the Corona Virus pandemic was an inspiring indication of stoic faith. A rare demonstration from a political leader, he said.

Applauding the Governor for his balanced approach to governance especially as it relates to the issue of religious plurality, Pastor Adeboye praised the Governor on his tolerance and inclusiveness to the extent that the first-ever Chapel in the Kogi State Government house was built by the Governor.


No going Back on Yoruba Nation- Igboho

Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho on Saturday disclosed that there is no going back on the agitation for Yoruba nation.

Igboho, who stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital alongside hundreds of his followers, emphasized that election will not be held in 2023.

The Yoruba activist, who spoke at the palace of the Deji of Akure, said that Yorubas can not the second class citizens in Nigeria, hence the call for self-determination.


Buhari Approves process to replace retired permanent secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the process to select five new permanent secretaries to replace the retired ones in Ekiti, Katsina, Nasarawa, Enugu, and Lagos states.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, disclosed this in a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations, office of the HOCSF, Mr AbdulGaniyu Aminu, on Saturday in Abuja

According to Yemi-Esan, 47 candidates have been cleared to sit for a written examination to fill the five vacant positions of those permanent secretaries.


Omokri reacts as Buhari, Osinbajo failed to attend Burial of COAS, Other Military Officers

Reno Omokri, former presidential aide, has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for not attending the burialbof the late Chief of Army Staff, General Ibrahim Attahiru, on Saturday.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Buhari and Osinbajo were conspicuously missing at the burial of the late COAS and other military officers on Saturday.

Attahiru died in a plane crash close to the Kaduna Airport on Friday. Ten other officers were also killed when the Beachcraft 350 aircraft came down due to bad weather.

Their remains were on Saturday moved to the National Mosque and the Nigerian Air Force Protestant Church venues of prayers.


Governor Genduje bags best library service award

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has been billed for a National Eminence Service Award by the Nigerian Library Association during its forthcoming 58th and 59th National conference scheduled to hold in Kano from May 24 to 28, 2021.

The national president of the association, Professor Innocent Isa Ekoja, who disclosed this on Saturday during a pre-conference media briefing at the NUJ correspondent’s Chapel in Kano, said the state would also be honoured with the “Best Library Service Award” having been adjudged to be at the forefront in providing library services.
