Pastor Femi Emmanuel, the presiding pastor of Livingspring Chapel International spoke about Political apathy among Christians. He claimed that Nigeria has prayed enough and God has already answered our prayers. We will still be praying but God has answered us by giving us, large fellowship. He said that mega-churches in Nigeria are not available anywhere in the world. "There are no churches like Redeem, Winners, Mountain of Fire, Christ Embassy, Deeper Life, and others," he said.
He then asked them to talk to their General Overseers because the church community is imprisoned. He said that our General Overseers have imprisoned us and they have to release us, mobilize us and encourage us to go to the grassroots, because politics is grassroots. He revealed that he has gone into politics before and he has campaigned before. He was the deputy speaker of a state and he knows how politics works. According to him, it is not just prayer that works, because we have prayed and God has answered our prayers. He said that next to God's power is political power and he has given us people so that we can seize political power. What else do we want Him to do?
He said that God cannot come down and wait for us and he can neither go to the wards and become political chairman. The seven Excos in each ward determine who is the president and we can't change Nigeria unless we change the national assembly. He said that the constitution is evil because it is a Jihadist one and it has put Nigeria under one tribe. He then urged the church and patriotic Nigerians to wake up because we cannot win this on social media and Facebook. He said we all have to go to the grassroots and start attending the wards meeting, so that we can put good people there; because it is the people at the wards that are called delegates.
Finally, he said that if you are not there then you are the back of the fence and if you pray from now till next year, it is a prayer in vain. He said he does not know why God took him into politics in 1991 but what he saw in politics, he can't see it from the pulpit. "That is why sometimes I don't blame our daddies, because they can't see it. We have prayed enough and we will still be praying but it is time for action," he said.
