Preparation have been on top gear to receive Pope's envoy and Apostolic nuncio to Nigeria to the Catholic diocese of Ahiara.
The Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara Mbaise, Imo State most joyfully welcome the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Most Reverend Antonio Guido Filipazzi on his visit to Ahiara Diocese.
The Diocese of Ahiara have been without a Bishop since eleven years now. Late Bishop Victor Adibe Chikwe died on the 16 of October 2010. Most. Reverend Peter Okpala Eke was appointed by the Pope of Ahiara Diocese as their new Bishop but he was never welcomed because his not from Mbaise diocese which leads to his resignation. Ever since then, the diocese of Ahiara has been without a Bishop. In the absence of the Bishop, the Pope appointed Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji as the administrator of the diocese.
Antonio will visit Ahiara Diocese tomorrow as the Pope's envoy. The entire Catholic faithful in Mbaise have congratulated the Rev. Lucius Ugorji, and the Clergy of Ahiara Diocese on the visit of the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria and pray that his visit be a fruitful one as they are expecting a good news from him.
