This report was released in the early hours of today by different media outlets across the world. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding that report as some Nigerians believe they still need to hear from the Sultan of Sokoto.
The Sultan is considered to be one of the most reliable source of information. However, the religious leader has confirmed that Eid-Fitr would be observed on Thursday, 13th May, 2021.
He said: “This confirms the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal 1442AH on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, which is the 29th day of Ramadan 1442AH. Therefore, Wednesday, May 12, 2021, is the 30th day of the month of Ramadan 1442AH".
This statement means all Muslims across the country must observe their fast tomorrow, 12th May, 2021. May Almighty Allah accept it as an act of Ibadah for all Muslim Brothers and Sisters.
