Dear Christains, I'm not trying to gain attention or cause mischief. I'm only making moves to enlighten fellow christains and open the hearts of ignorant men. Christainity is a large religion, so wide to the whole part of the earth. Hence, there have been different teachings and doctrines, despite using the same Holy Book(Bible). Some of these doctrines are true while many are false. We need to be enlightened so as not to preach heresy.
One of the famous doctrines amongst christains is the teachings on "Giving Life To Christ". Infact, this is almost as famous and common as Christ itself. Almost every preacher says this while making alter calls or preaching the gospel. However, it saddens my heart when I see men of God saying, "Give your life to Christ" because it is Unscriptural and unfounded.
The Bible is our basics, and it doesn't teach us to give our lives to Christ before we can be saved. As a matter of fact, each and every sinner is living a dead life. There's no Life that a sinner will offer God. When you preach the gospel to them, it is the gospel that will bring back life to them. Christ doesn't need anyone's life because he is the Life himself. The Bible says in John 14:6 that Jesus is the Life, so he doesn't need any sinner's dead life.
You rather tell unbelievers to believe Jesus and get a new life. John 10:10 says Jesus have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. This shows that Jesus is the one giving life to us and not us giving our lives to him. Anyone who is a sinner is doomed and such has no life to give Christ, but once he believes the gospel, he receives the life of Christ.
John 3:16 says, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life'. This shows that unbelievers need to believe in christ to have and gain eternal life. We do not believe Christ by losing or giving our lives, rather we take of him. John 6:33FSays, "Forthe bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Jesus himself is the one giving life to everyone and everything in the world. We are not the one giving him life.
Galatians 2:20 says, 'I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. This teaches us that it was Christ that gave his life for us. We are not the one giving him life.
Our lives are too filthy for his righteous, he doesn't need them. All He needs is our confession and believe, then He'll give us a brand new life. So let's stop the Practice of "Giving Your Life To Christ" before you can be saved. What saves us is the belief and confession of the Gospel. The faith that Jesus gave his own life for us and rose up on the third day. God bless you and have a great week
