3 Reasons Jesus died for me

We just celebrated Easter and most folks did not know the reason Jesus died for them. What is the reason for the season? Many folks asked, “why did Jesus Christ die on a cross for us?” Why did he suffer so much? Who did he die for?

                        Jesus Christ, Cross

There are more than 3 reasons Jesus died for you, but today I am going to talk about the top 3 reasons.

  1. To give eternal life to whoever believed on Him

I think the most important reason that Jesus himself, who was God, but took flesh and became human, died for us, was to save you and me from the penalty of our sins, and give us eternal life with Him after death.

My most favorite verse of the Bible gives us this authority.

John 3:16 (NIV)

16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It’s pretty simple, if you are living in darkness. Someone shares the good news with you, and you respond to that with your whole heart and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You will be saved and have eternal life as long as you keep Jesus in your life and never reject him.

If you are reading this and never asked Jesus to come into your heart, this is the day that Lord has made, just for you to do that. Please ask forgiveness for you sins.

  1. To save you from the Curse of the Law

This is a fact, no human being who came to this earth is able to fulfill the law. There was no way we would be able to escape from the curse of the law because none of us are perfect. The Bible tells us that when we were sinners, Jesus died for us.

Galatians 3:13 (NKJV)

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.

Because Jesus fulfilled the law and took curse on him so we don’t have to do all and pay the penalty that he paid.

Bible is clear that we wont be able to righteous by following the Law.

 Galatians 2: (NKJV)

16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

  1. To End Religion and bring us to a personal relationship with the Lord

I always tell people, “Christianity is not a religion it’s a relationship between you and God.” If you pay attention to other religions of the world, you will see that they don’t have a personal relationship to their God. You don’t ask Buddha or Mohammed or Zoroaster to come into your heart. Only in Christianity does God come into your heart.

It was hard for us to follow the entire commandments and be religious. That is why Jesus came, not to abolish, but fulfill the law. It’s written that when Jesus died on the Cross, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom. This happened to signify that through Jesus we will be able to stand in the presence of God. Only now do we have access to His presence. This presence is Jesus coming in the spirit, the Holy Spirit, because He promised to send the Holy Spirit to those who believe and asked. If you pray today, and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart, today will be your day of salvation and you will never be alone again.
