Why I Stopped Wearing Chains & Dark Glasses - Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Outstanding Nigerian clergyman and founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has revealed why he ceased wearing chains around his wrist and dark glasses. In a YouTube video sighted online, Pastor Chris narrated how the wearing of the wrist chain came to be an impediment to him when he was preaching on the pulpit on a Sunday morning. He said the anointing could not trickle and he found it hard to preach to the assembly.

"One day I was preaching and on my wrist, I wore a chain. I utilized things like that sometimes. So I wore the chain I utilized so often because I had it long, but I unexpectedly couldn’t preach while I was talking on Sunday morning.” The anointing couldn’t seep and I asked, “What is it?” I still attempted to preach to the people, but it was tough and I was battling with the Holy Ghost and the Spirit of God spoke to me and said, “take away the chain!”

Accordingly I instructed the congregation to close their eyes and pray. They all shut their eyes, and I turned around and pulled out the chains, and put them in my pocket. Then the power came and from that time, I felt like another person, although I never endorsed that people would not wear chains.” You see, the Spirit of God directs us, thus he instructed me to get rid of the chain. I used to wear glasses of darkness. I nonetheless had some of those photos, but one after the other it’s broken. I was with a brother at some time and the new one I just purchased dropped and disintegrated, the brother responded, “God shatters your spectacles.”

I am trying to say that you have a unique commitment when you become a Minister of the Gospel. Do you know what is known as the slave of love? You are Jesus Christ’s love slave. You’ve got perspectives, but you can’t see them. He’s practically driving your life because you gave it all. I want to go to some areas, but I cannot go, not because I don’t want to go there, but I used to say that my commander might not allow me to go to people, but you know we aren’t all up to this level.”
