While speaking to the public in a video clip posted on the church's Facebook page, the spiritual director and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, said the government of the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, may lose the next election if he doesn't seek God's face. Recall that the next Edo State elections will take place in 2024.
Remember that Godwin Obaseki did his first tenure in the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is currently serving his second tenure as Governor in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). As a result, we could argue that he may not run again in 2024, but PDP will be in the ballot. So, in other words, Primate Ayodele is saying Obaseki should seek the face of God so his government will deliver their candidate.
From 20 seconds in the video, Primate Ayodele said: "I want to warn Edo State. Obaseki, your government may lose the next election if you don't seek the face of God and strategize. You need to listen because if you do it without God, your government may not win the next election. They may disgrace you".
