According to TVC news, the traditional and religious leaders made this known while speaking at the commissioning of an Islamic Centre at Iseyin in Oyo State.
The Alaafin said in his address advised Nigerians to emulate the Yoruba inter-religious harmony which they were known for since the time immemorial.
The traditional ruler said the Yorubas were the first to internalize religion.
" The Yorubas are the the first to internalize religion, we practise secularism that allows other religious denominations to practise without any hindrances." Said Alaafin.
He commiserated with the Sultan on the recent killings of citizens in the state, describing Sultan of Sokoto as a leader who always stands for his people.
Meanwhile, the Sultan, in his own remark, noted that for to move forward and scale through its recent challenges, justice must be upheld in any institutions and levels.
He said further that Nigerians must come together and work for the unity of the country.
