What Happens To Your Spirit, Soul And Body After Death?

(Trinity of man; spirit, soul and body)

The human system is also a Trinity, as we have in the Godhead. The English standard version of the book of Genesis 1:26 says;

"Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"

The voice of God that says, "let us", signifies to the Trinity, the word, which is Jesus Christ, and the holy spirit, rhe third in the Trinity, to come and make man, in their image, after their likeness.

Now, considering the image and likeness of God, then we would be talking about the current form of man, in the head, hands, legs, body, in short, we will be relating to the anatomy and physiology of man, about the physical formation of the body. Talking about the likeness of God, then, that would be about the features of Trinity, in Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(The Trinity of God: Father Son, Holy Spirit)

Human beings also are in Trinity. We have the spirit Of man, the soul of man and the body of man. A man is a spirit, who has a soul and lives in a body. The body is the compartment in which the spirit and soul are inhabited.

What Happened To The Spirit, Soul and Body, after Death:

(The spirit, and soul leaves the body of man, at death)

A man is a mortal being. That is also one of the differences between God and man. Although man is in the image and likeness of God, immortality of God, stand Him out uniquely. Human beings die. God has apportioned 70 years to be the benchmark of the age wherein man would be assumed as ripe enough to "be gathered to his people" (Bible term for the death of a man).

At death, the spirit of man leaves the soul because it is the spirit that powers the soul. What gives you life is the breath of God, that He breathed to the clay He has formed to make the man. The spirit booking to God, so, it returns to Him. An example of this could be affirmed in when God had to reuse the spirit of Elijah to come into the personality of John the Baptist. This affirms the fact that every spirit returns to God, at death.

The soul of man is the real personality in him. The soul is it that is left of him. For the Bible says, for the soul that sinneth shall die. As much as Adam has sinned, and all his offspring has inherited the covenant that has been established through his disobedience to God, the soul of man is automatically affirmed a sinful soul. The blood of Jesus Christ is it that cleanses souls of destructive sins.

Souls are ejected out of the body of a man after death. The Bible says in the book Hebrew 9:27, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

The Bible has already said the soul that sinneth shall die. Here, the Bible is talking about the final judgement of the white throne, where the judgement of hell and heaven shall be passed on to man. It is the soul of man that stand to be judged. It is the soul of man that sins so, every judgement of God is soul-based. Also, it is on the soul that justification of righteous living is pronounced. A righteous believer is ushered to paradise in his soul before he is transformed into the heavenly body. The soul of man is different from the glorified body of heaven.

The book of 1 Corinthians 15:51,52, talks about the transformation of the soul of man.

"But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!"

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed"

Here the Bible is talking about the transformation of the soul of man. It shall be transformed from the corruptible intents and mentality to the incorruptible. The soul of a regenerated person shall be justified and welcomed to the abode of God.

The body of man, which is his compartment, wherein both the spirit and soul are housed would be shelled off. It does not have anywhere to go other than to just decay and decompose. The body is unaware of the soul and the spirit. But, the soul is powered up by the Holy Spirit, through the gift of the holy ghost. The body of man is it that sins, that tarnishes the soul. The body does not respect your personality, either you are a pastor or not, it has a tendency of doing things according to its dictates, which is to satisfy the immediate need.

The Trinity of man does not work as one. That is the most significant difference between the trinity of God and man. The spirit works independently, from the body. The spirit spiritually does relate with the soul. But, the soul also does not have anything to do with the body. The body could ensure that people are well pleased, but, the spirit tries as much a possibility that you please the Lord.

The independent status of the trinity of man could be seen when Jesus took the three disciples, Peter James and John, to the garden of Gethsemane to pray. He ready instructed the apostles to pray so that they don't fall into trouble.

In Mathew 26:41, the Bible affirms the independence of the Trinity of man in that,

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak".

The spirit is willing, but the flesh, the body is weak. The body is like, a container, once the contents are used and improved from what is left of it is a needless vessel.
