The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said it is virtually impossible to make any headway in life if we don't take responsibility for our mistakes. The first step to making progress in life is to admit that we have made mistakes.
Pastor Adeboye made this submission in the 18th July, 2020 devotion of the Open Heavens devotional manual authored by himself through the inspiration of God.
"You will not make progress if you are always shifting blame. Only failures make excuse".
Daddy Adeboye said it is not a bad idea to accept our mistakes as it is the first step towards progress and going forward.
"If you fail, first admit sorrowfully that you have made a mistake, then go to God pleading for mercy...godly sorrow is good...it brings about repentance "
Quoting copiously from the bible, the anointed man of God used David as a classical example of someone who made mistakes and fell short of the glory of God. But because David was a man who had godly sorrow and dutifully admit his shortcomings before God, he was a man after God's heart.
"David was a man who had godly sorrow, that is why even though he made many mistakes in his lifetime, he kept on moving forward....when he makes mistakes, his heart smote him".
On a final note, Daddy Adeboye said the God we serve is a kind hearted and a merciful God ever ready to forgive and reconnect with anyone who has deviated and fallen short of His glory.
