Deeper Meaning Of 2Corinthians 3:18 That You Need To Know.

God desires that all His Children be changed (conformed) into the image of his Son, and this is because he is the brightness of his glory, and as well the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3), and according to Romans 12:2, children of God should not be conformed to this world but be changed (transform) by the renewing of their minds (through the word of God) so that they would be able to prove what is good, acceptable, and God's perfect will.

While the Spirit of the Lord has been given to give us the transformation experience that will make us be in God's image, children of God must submit themselves to God's Spirit to reveal the glory of the Lord to them and change them from glory to glory, and 2Corintians 3:18 says something deep about it which I want to share with you, and I want you to read through the entire article as I discuss the deeper meaning of the scripture.

Here is the deeper meaning of 2Corinthians 3:18.

" But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

According to the above Bible passage, " But we all", this means all the children of God who are born of the Spirit and water, and have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord, and also believed that God raised him from the dead, whether Jew or Greek, pastor, prophet, apostles, evangelists, teaches, deacons, Bishops or ordinary Christian, as long as he or she is born again, there is no discrimination but all are included and being referred to, being equal and worthy to experience the fellowship of the Spirit (God) in their lives.

" With an open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord", this means that with an unveiled face, 1Corinthians 3:16 reveals that the veil is on the hearts of those who still read and follow the law of Moses, but for anyone who turns to the Lord (Jesus Christ), the veil (which causes spiritual blindness) will be removed, and with open eyes, we looked into the glass or mirror, which according to James 1:25, is the law of liberty, and through the glass (law of liberty) we behold the glory of the Lord.

The glory of the Lord according to Psalm 19:1 means the knowledge of God, and John 1:14 reveals that the Word became flesh and his glory when looked into was that of the only begotten of the Father and is also full of grace and truth; 2Peter1:2 also tells us that grace and peace is multiplied through the knowledge of God.

" are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.", this means that through the knowledge of God ( which is also referred to as glory of the Lord in Psalm 19:1), we are transformed into the same image that we see, Romans 8:29 lets us know that because God foreknew us, he predestinate us to be conformed to his Son's image (Jesus Christ), and this is done by the Spirit of the Lord as he teaches us the knowledge of God, and filled us with grace, peace, and truth.

As God's children, we need to present ourselves to the Lord so that he can reveal his glory through his word, and change us into His image from one glory to another by his Spirit.
