"Don't Be Too Eager To Make Money" - Pastor Kumuyi Warns Members

Pastor WF Kumuyi the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church spoke about "The cross that guarantees total triumph" during a Revival Session in the just concluded Easter retreat. While discussing the first of his three subtopics which is the crisis of trials and temptation, man of God have I want his members against unnecessary eagerness to have money. You read from the book of Matthew 4:8 & 9 which says

"Again the Devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if that wilt fall down and worship me".

Here, the Devil tried to tempt Jesus with material and earthly things by promising him the whole world if he can bow down and worship him, Jesus will definitely not fall for that is it hard to go through pain and sorrows to be able to conquer the world that Satan wants to give you him freely. He had to be beaten, chastised, killed, buried and then resurrected.

However the man of God urged his church members not to be eager to have money so that the devil will not use that to tempt them. If you are too eager to have money or popularity, or the praise of men, it's becomes a source of temptation by the Devil. The devil will know that you need money so much and he will use it to tempt you.

In conclusion, it is God who gives wealth and all you need to do is to trust and be patient and don't allow the quest for wealth and riches take you away from God. Don't be too eager to earn it so that the Devil will not to use it as a source of temptation. Unfortunately it is difficult to overcome the temptation of money ; it only takes the grace of God.
