The Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Most Rev. Professor Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, has said that he won't turn an alleged thief back if he or she brings money to the church willingly. He made the statement during a recent interaction with his followers.
He made the statement while answering a question asked by a parishioner during a catechism class. He was quizzed about ill-gotten wealth and donations to the church. The video of the moment when he was quizzed was shared online.
According to the video shared by Torixus media on Sunday, 7 November, an unnamed believer asked the Bishop, why is that the church accepts money from those who are known to be fraudsters, scammers and looters.
While answering the unnamed woman, the Intelligent Bishop said that he won't reject the money brought to the church by an accused thief or fraudster.
He gave reasons why he encourage other Priests to accept money brought to the church by a alleged thief.
