TOPIC: DARE TO ASK
MONDAY 15TH FEBRUARY, 2021
Meditation:
“And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.” (Judges 16:28)
Today’s text: Judges 16:23-31:
Samson was brought low by Delilah who caused his hair to be shaved and handed him over to his adversaries. Although he was the architect of his calamity, he bounced back in faith and took vengeance on his captors. He recovered his strength through faith in God. His final prayer of faith made his name to enter the hall of fame of faith in Hebrews 11:32: “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets.”
He dared to ask God even after he had earlier failed him and received a second chance. Let no circumstances deter you from asking. Samson received his request and his fame in death was more than in life. God honoured his name and granted his request. Our Lord Jesus granted the request of a dying criminal in Luke 23:42: “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” What if he had kept mum? He would have gone into eternity condemned. Child of God, there is no way you can move forward if you don’t change your position from that of fear to faith.
Most people will not attempt anything because they believe that they are limited by culture, circumstances, and situations. They think that because they have no influential person in power that they cannot break through in life. Some people who are sick will not attempt to get cure because they believe it is simply not possible.
The story of Jabez proves to us that God can intervene in any life when we reach out to him. Matthew 7:7 says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Don’t ask without faith. Don’t ask with your heart far away. Let your heart stay on God; let your mind stay on Him. He will not leave you without changing your situation. When God decides to turn your case around, things will work for you. Your promotion will come even when others don’t get it. Just open up to God and He will change your destiny. Don’t give up and He will turn that hopeless situation around.
Prayers:
1.Go back to prayer topics you have given up on and represent them to God.
2.Persist in prayer until answers come.
Confession:
Lord, I look up to you for answers. Nothing good will you deny them that trust in you. Deliver me from my challenges in Jesus’ name, amen.
