Buhari's Successor: Why Lagos Catholic Archbishop's Call For Igbo Presidency Should Be Considered.

It was recently reported that the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos Archdiocese, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale-Martins stated it clearly that the south east region should be allowed to produce President Buhari's successor come 2023.

Based on this particular call that made by the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, I really think that the call should be considered.

Why did I say this? I said this because of few reasons.

First, for the sake of equity and justice: This is the main reason why the south east region should be considered or allowed to produce the next president of the country.

As we all know, since the civil war ended in the year 1970, no single Igbo man has ever ruled this country. The highest level an Igbo has ever gotten to was the post of the Vice President of the country.

So, for the sake of fairness, equity and justice I think it will be very good if the south east should be allowed to produce the next president of the country.

Secondly, for the sake of Nigeria's Unity and peaceful coexistence: This is another major reason why Archbishop Adewale-Martins call should be considered. As it stands now, most Igbos think or feel that Nigeria has nothing for them. But if an Igbo man eventually become the President of the country come 2023, it will give most Igbos sense of belonging. It will also make them to know and understand that Nigeria belongs to them and every other person in the country.

This statement that came from this man of God should not for any reason be overlooked. Ndigbo should be given the opportunity to produce the next president of the country so that we can move forward as a nation.

I know that some people will kick against what I have just said here, but the fact still remains that we are all entitled to our own individual opinions and I have just aired mine.
