“We were obeying God by sacking those Pastors and He is Backing us up for Obeying Him" - Oyedepo

The general overseer of Living Faith Church International, aka Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, says that the recent decision to sack some pastors was an obedience to God.

Bishop Oyedepo said that the church has God's backing and support regarding the sacking of those pastors.

Recall that several pastors of the church in Ekiti State were reportedly sacked for having a church growth index that is below expectations.

One of the sacked pastors by name Peter Godwin, said that he was sacked for not being able to generate income to cater for his welfare and accommodation.

Reacting to this, Bishop Oyedepo said that the church has no patience with failure which is why they dismissed those pastors.

The outspoken clergyman said that when his church employed 7,000 people, social media was dead and no one talked about it.

He went on to claim that his church has more employees than most of the states, adding that no one is owed any salary and they don't borrow or beg.

Bishop Oyedepo went further to say that the decision to sack the pastors was a simple act of obedience to God.

“We asked you to go because you are unfruitful. Doing what there? We have no patience with failure here. We are just simply obeying God and He is backing up what He is asking us to do", Oyedepo's statement reads in parts.
