Job Was Neither An Israelite Nor A Prophet, But He Served The Lord In Spirit And In Truth

There was a man in the Bible whose name was Job, he lived in the land of Uz, he was neither an Israelite nor a prophet of God, yet served the LORD in truth and in spirit. He was perfect, upright and feared the living God. He disassociated himself from anything that looked evil.

God rewarded Job for his uprightness and godliness, " And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses , and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east."(Job 1 2-3).

One day, God Almighty allowed Satan to try Job because he (Satan) accused Job of serving the LORD due to the blessings of God he had received, "Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every sides? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land." Meanwhile, God knew that Job was righteous, upright and perfect before Him always, therefore, He allowed Satan to try Job.

Job's trial came in three different ways, first and formost, all his livestocks were stolen away by bandits, secondly, all his ten children died the same time, day and the same place, "While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in the their eldest brother's house: And behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee." Mind you, all these happened because Satan was at work.

Upon hearing all the news above, Job never sinned against God or charged Him foolishly. He said, " Naked came i out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." Despite all the calamities above, Job still had faith in God.

The last test or trial of Job was that, Satan smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown, the boil was so painful to the extent that he (Job) had to sit inside ashes and used potsherd to scrap himself withal. When Job's wife looked at his husband, she said, "Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die." Meanwhile, Job replied her, " Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this, Job didn't sin against God.

God remembered Job at the end of his trial, He returned Job's lost glory in multiple fold. My esteemed readers, mind you, he was neither an Israelite nor an ordained Prophet of God, yet he served the LORD. Therefore, serving God is a personal's desire, whoever serves the LORD will be diligently rewarded irrespective of his or her tribe, colour and race. Our Lord Jesus Christ died for everybody, the room of repentance is widely opened to all, make use of it today and it shall be well with your soul.
