The easy way to live a successful Christian life, is to accept your human angle. Yes, we are now spiritual beings, we should live "the spiritual life", but that doesn't change the fact that you are still in some ugly flesh, which often try to gratify itself, even above your pious intentions. Sometimes, lust tries to set in, anger tries to have its way, greed shows interest... Well, I think these things are normal with the flesh, it shows we are still human after all.
Accepting this human angle, would make you to always humble yourself, both before God and before man. Accepting this human angle, which often tries to show its ugly head in your spiritual walk, makes you to forgive yourself quickly, whenever you stumble and move on with God. God already knows what you are, He knows you are dust. (Psalms 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.)
Even Jesus accepted His human angle, when He said He didn't know when it was that the end will come. The master didn't feel like "kini ka ti gbo, emi odindin Master... ". He just accepted He was still 100% flesh. (But you can be sure that's not the case now, cos He overcame the flesh on the cross... He is God Almighty, one with the Father).
Jesus accepted is human angle, when He said "Father let this cup pass over me...", He didn't feel like an all powerful man who doesn't like to be seen as being weak. I guess that was what made Him to pray more until God strengthened Him.
Jesus accepted His human angle, when He said "no man is good... ", in response to a man who called Him good Teacher. To me, He was (and He is) the good Teacher, but He was just too humble, that He wanted to identify with us by all means.
So, powerful christian brother, ever onfire christian sister, be humble, remember you are dust... be humble, emulate your Lord.
Matthew 5:3, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Amen.
