The Holy Spirit And You

Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is the Spirit that proceeds from our Heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is the active power of God. The Holy Spirit lives inside every believer.

The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father given to His children first in the old testament in Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."

Jesus also told the disciples in John 14:26 to wait for the promise of the Father because without Him, they can't do anything.

The Holy Spirit has a personality, you can grieve Him and you can also make Him happy. As a believer, you need to have a personal relationship, communion with the Holy Spirit daily.

The power that resurrected Christ from the dead indwells every believer but we can't activate the power because we are not conscious of the presence of the Holy Spirit in us. You need to consciously decide to grow closer to the Holy Spirit daily.

Acknowledge His presence daily, follow His promptings, study the Word of God, make music from your heart to the Lord and let the joy of the Lord fill you. Remember, you can grieve the Holy Spirit, He can't dwell in a hostile environment. Make your heart comfortable for Him to stay by getting rid of bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, gossip, lies etc.

Without the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, we can't live a fulfilled Christian life. I'm also getting to know Him everyday, it's a lifelong journey. He is a very gentle Spirit. He is my best friend.
