PRAYER:"O LORD, Please, Don't Let The Things That I Fear Befall Me".

"25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. 26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came." Job 3:25‭-‬26 KJV.

By God's grace, this statement of Job in the Bible verse above calls for serious mediation.

Life is full of ups and downs. We have our good times and our bad times. Times when all is rosy and every thing we touch seems to turn out well, and we have times when it seems as if nothing is working.

There are times in life when we don't want things to go wrong but we just have this bad feeling (fear, doubt, worry, whatever we call it), that something will or may go wrong. It's all part of life.

Like the saying goes, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear". Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa.

Like Job, we all have moments when we are afraid in life. It is either we are afraid that something may go wrong or something bad might happen. It also be that we are afraid that a desired expectation may end up not been fulfilled. It's all part of life.

A necessary question to ask is, "Why do the things we fear at times come to pass?"

By God's grace, three reasons I will like to give to this question are:

Firstly, some of the things that we hold (or will hold) dear are going to be things that God Almighty will use to try our love for Him or our faith in Him.

God told Abraham in Genesis 22:1-2 to go and sacrifice Isaac, his only son by Sarah, unto Him, the Bible said, "God did tempt Abraham".

It was a trial. There was no doubt that Abraham loved Isaac, his only son by Sarah so much. Sarah gave birth to this child while they were both very old.

Just like Abraham was tested by God, so also, God tested Job. Job 1:8-12.

Secondly, it could also be as a result of the works of the enemy. Our Lord Jesus Christ, while explaining the meaning of a parable to His disciples in Matthew 13:25 said, "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." And He went further in verse 39 to explain who the enemy that sowed the tares was, He said, "The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

The devil, just as he did with Job, is still wandering about to make sure that the fears of people become their realities. Job 1:7. The devil is still walking about the earth today like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. 1 Peter 5:8.

Thirdly, human errors as a result of combination of human factors. Our fears could become real if our decisions or actions are wrong.

King Jehoshaphat decided to accompany king Ahab to fight the Syrians in 1 Kings 22:1-40 despite God revealing that they would be defeated. King Ahab was killed (v 40), while king Jehoshaphat escaped been killed just by the mercy of the LORD (v 31-33). Out of fear, king Jehoshaphat cried out.

Finally, if that which we fear befalls us, if it is as a result of God's trial, patience and God's grace is needed to pass the trial. If it is as a result of the works of the devil, patience and prayer (s) are needed for God's divine intervention to overcome, while, repentance and prayer is needed if it is as a result of human errors.

By God's grace, here are few prayer points that will help you:

1. O LORD, thank You for Your word that You've revealed to me

2. O LORD, any human error that has brought what I fear upon me, please, forgive me, in the Name of Jesus Christ

3. O LORD, if what has brought what I fear upon me is as a result of the works of the devil, please, have mercy upon me and deliver, in the Name of Jesus Christ

4. O LORD, like You did for Job (Job 42), all that I have lost, please, restore them back unto me, in the Name of Jesus Christ

5. O LORD, please, restore unto me all that I have lost as a result of the works of the devil, in the Name of Jesus Christ

6. O LORD, either as a result of the works of the devil or human error, please, don't let the things that I fear befall me from today, in the Name of Jesus Christ

7. Thank God for His mercy and expected answer to your prayers.

*May The LORD see you through all your trials, help you overcome all the works of the devil and restore your loses as a result of human errors, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
