Deeper Meaning Of 1Thessalonians 5:18 That You Need To Know.

One of the most important things which God desires his children to do in any condition they find themselves, is to give thanks, and the reasons why he wants them to give thanks in everything is because the thoughts he thinks towards them are thoughts of good and not evil in other to give them an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11), and according to Romans 8, he (God) makes all things to work together for their good, and 1Thessalonians 5:18 reveals something deep about it that I want to share with you in this article.

Here is the deeper meaning of 1Thessalonians 5:18.

" In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

According to the Bible passage above, " In everything give thanks", this means that as children of God, we should give thanks in everything that we pass through or have as experience in life, and the reason for this is that as long as we love God and demonstrate our love for him by keeping his commandments, he loves us also, and he makes all things whether good or evil to work for our good, and everything we may experience are his plans and thoughts to give us an expected end which is a good one, and it is for these reasons that we should give thanks to him.

In Job 1:21, despite the evil that happen to Job and how he lost his children and all his possessions, he still blesses God (give thanks) because he understands that the Lord gives, and the Lord also takes away, and he never complains or curses God. According to 1Corinthians 14:16, to bless God also means to give thanks to him, and we should always give thanks to God in everything.

" For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.", this second part of the Bible passage means that for those who are in Christ Jesus, it is God's will for them to do what is said in the first part of the Bible passage, which is to give thanks in everything. To be able to give thanks in everything, children of God must be transformed by renewing their minds to prove the will of God that is perfect, good, and acceptable (Romans 12:2)

As God's children, we should always know God in whatever we pass through so that we can understand his will in everything, and give thanks to him because whatever he does is for our good.
