4 creeping animals the Bible says we should not eat

God gave a lengthy instruction to the children of Israel in the book of Leviticus. There are many things He forbids us from doing but the problem is that; it is difficult to keep to them. God saw those things as things we shouldn't do/eat as the case may be but we still do them.

Talking about the animals we eat, we have control over them but the truth is that some of them are considered unclean by God. In this article, I bring to you 4 common creeping animals the Bible forbids us from eating. What is a creeping animal? "An animal that goes on its belly, or moves with small, short legs".

1. The mouse.

Many of us are used to eating this creeping animal when it is obvious God asked us not to eat it. Some of us are so much used to it that it has become our favourite meat. The Bible considers it as an unclean animal and asked us not to eat.

2. Lizards.

Lizards might not be commonly eaten by many people but there might still be people who eat them. They are unclean and shouldn't be eaten.

3. Tortoise

The level at which some people consume tortoises is alarming. Many people believe it gives blood and for that, they love eating it. God said this animal is unclean and for that, we shouldn't eat it.

4. Snail.

I'm sure this one must affect many people because this animal is one of the most expensive animals in Nigeria. When you go to restaurants and request a snail, the price you shall get would tell you how expensive it is. Funny enough, God instructed us not to eat it because it is regarded as an unclean animal.

We can not say all these without Biblical prove so let us jump into the Bible and read what it has to say.

Leviticus 11:28–29 reads:

“These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, and the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.”

So tell me, are you eating any of them? Can you quit eating it? Please share.
