One of the oldest Catholic priest has been reported dead in Philippine, the Retired Bishop Manuel Sobreviñas of Imusis said to have passed away on Saturday at the age of 96 years old. The catholic bishop is said to be the oldest Catholic bishop in the Philippines.
The workaholic bishop who have contributed immensely to the growth of catholic church in the country was said to have died at the Cardinal Santos Hospital in San Juan City at 12:45pm of the day.The diocese official who took on one of the Social media platform to announce the dismiss of the retired bishop said; " with regret, we wish to announce the dismise of our bishop emeritus, Bishop Manuel Sobrevinas bPlease include him in all your Mass intentions.
Bishop Manuel was born on Dinalupihan town in Bataan province and was ordained catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Manila in year 1951. He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Manila in the year 1971 where he served for 14 years. In year1993, he was appointed as the third bishop of Imus after which he retired in October 2001 at the age of 77. May the soul of Bishop Manuel and other faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in Peace. Amen!
