Apostle Joshua Selman, the founder and general overseer of the Eternity Network International and the organizer of the Koinonia Global Program, spoke on the topic of "Redefining The Church" on Day 2 of the Koinonia UK Conference 2023. In his sermon, he described a vision he said God had given him for the church.
He started out by pointing out two key differences between the church of today and the church of the past. He listed the following: Character faults and contradictions, as well as a dearth of well-informed, realistically helpful teachings that offer solutions to problems people today are confronting.
In reference to the vision, he said, "The church will provide less solutions to societal issues as long as our sermons do not present actual scriptural solutions to societal issues. Never undervalue the necessity for solutions among people. God forbid what I saw occurs in real life. As the days went by, the demand for human solutions grew more and more. The church eventually had to be closed down since we were unable to provide any workable solutions. Help us, God! The church needs to wake up.
