The idea behind the Holy Trinity which includes God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is what we Christians have believed over a long time. As Christians, whatever we believe must be Biblically oriented since our Anchor is the Holy Bible. We study the words to know more of God and understand the needs to be more dedicated to serving him.
When you study the Bible, you stand to be spiritually guided at all times since His Words are Nourishments to our souls. Sometimes you might be reading the Bible and get stocked on the way because there are some parts of it that are not easily understood unless you involve a spiritual Mentors to explain further to you.
The idea behind the difficulties in understanding the Bible is one of the reasons The Holy Bible was translated to different Versions. When you read a verse In King James Version and you do not understand it, you would have other versions to consult for easy Understanding. Now, when we talk about translations, it has to do with the act of explaining the content using different words but with the same message. Some translations are there to simplify the grammar used by other Translations for easy comprehension. That brings us to the matter at hand.
There is a great difference between King James Version and other versions regarding The book of 1 John 5:7. Other versions did not record what KJV recorded in that verse. Let me show you what I'm talking about. I shall be showing you 1 John 5:7-8 for proper analysis.
In KJV, 1 John 5:7-8 says
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one".
I am going to compare this with other 5 popular Translations below;
1. New Living Translation (NLT)
"7 So we have these three witnesses
8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood and all three agree.
2. New International Version (NIV)
"7 For there are three that testify:
8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement".
3. English Standard Version (ESV)
7 "For there are three that testify:
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree".
4. Amplified Bible
7 For there are three witnesses:
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three are in agreement [their testimony is perfectly consistent].
5. Good News Bible
7 There are three witnesses:
8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and all three give the same testimony.
If you read through carefully, you will notice that only King James Version talked about the Trinity. Other versions talked about what KJV combined in verse 8. This means KJV combined the verses other versions splitted into two verses, ignoring the Trinity case in verse 7.
Can anyone explain this? Why didn't other Translations record it?
