Phillip Jack Brooks, better known by the ring name CM Punk, is an American mixed martial artist and retired professional wrestler. He has gone on the record to say that he is an atheist since he does not believe in the idea of god and has his own beliefs which he strongly sticks by.
In his own words; “On Sunday, when you all go to church and you pray to that God that I know doesn’t exist. . . I choose to live by the X (by the Straight Edge Movement).”
Gregory Walter Graffin, Ph.D is an American punk rock singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, college lecturer, and author.
In his book titled ‘Anarchy Evolution’ released on September 28, 2010, Graffin writes that he is an atheist: “I've never believed in God, which technically makes me an atheist.”
Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti simply known as Seun Kuti, is a Nigerian musician, singer and the youngest son of famous afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
In 2013, Seun posted on his Facebook page; “I am happy I am an Atheist. If you can point to one positive thing religion has brought to Africa, I will convert to that particular religion immediately. You are taught in African religious institutions the reason you are poor is not because the politicians are stealing all your money, it is because God is not happy with you, it is because you are a sinner.”
Colby Lopez is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Seth Rollins. He affirmed being an atheist in a tweet tweeted via his official twitter handle, dated Jan. 5, 2017. In his words; “Nope, not agnostic. 100% atheist. Disbeliever all the way.”
Lee Jun-fan known professionally as Bruce Lee, was a Chinese American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, and philosopher. According to official records, he was an atheist until his death.
Javed Akhtar is an Indian political activist, poet, lyricist and screenwriter, originally from Gwalior area. Akhtar was a Muslim but later became an atheist. He has brought up his children Farhan and Zoya Akhtar as atheists.
Akhtar talking about his religious beliefs said; “There’s something that I would like to make very clear at the very outset. Don't get carried away by my name – Javed. I am not revealing a secret, I am saying something that I have said many times, in writing o I love Altaf Hussan And obviously I don't believe in spirituality of some kind.”
Steven Albini is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer, and music journalist. Albini called himself an atheist in a June 4, 2011 interview with the website What I Wanna Know.
In his words; “I’m an atheist, You could say that I’m agnostic, but that’s just a certain kind of atheist. If I were a gambling man I would put all my money on there not being anything other than this universe. People use God to fill in the spaces in the gaps of their knowledge. As we follow the trajectory of knowledge, the need for a God just dwindles, and it approaches zero.”
David Jon Gilmour is an English musician who was a member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Gilmour does not believe in an afterlife and is an atheist.
In his own words; “I'm an atheist, and I don't have any belief in an afterlife. You could say that I'm resigned to the fact that this wonderful life that we get here is it. And having hit 60, it's a good time to get resigned to these things and not be too nervous or upset - and enjoy what great times one can have.”
Akínwándé Olúwo̩lé Babátúndé S̩óyíinká simply known as Wole Soyinka, is a Nigerian playwright, poet and essayist. According to official records, he was raised in a religious family, attending church services and singing in the choir from an early age; however Soyinka himself became an atheist later in life.
Raykeea Raeen-Roes Wilson known professionally as Angel Haze, is an American rapper and singer. Haze's anger towards religion has caused many to believe that she is atheist.
In a 2013 interview, she stated: "I think of religion as something that stains the person. It's a mindset you can never get free from, it's always in the back of your head. Even mine! I think, am I going to hell for this? Then I have to remind myself that I don't f*cking believe in hell."
Donald McKinley Glover Jr. is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, director, musician, and DJ. He performs music under the stage name Childish Gambino and as a DJ under the name mcDJ.
Raised as Jehovah's Witness, Childish Gambino - seems to have strayed from his religious beliefs. He refers to himself as an "airport atheist" in the song "Won't Stop," noting, "Airport atheist, though may pray when there's turbulence."
Dirk Murray "Baba" Brinkman is a Canadian rapper and playwright best known for recordings and performances that combine hip hop music with literature, theatre, and science.
Baba Brinkman does not believe in God or religion. He stated in an interview: "But I think there’s a lot of people who don’t relate to being churchy and religious and attributing everything to God. There aren’t strong voices in rap that represent the other view, that there’s a rational explanation for all this!”
John Winston Ono Lennon was an English singer, songwriter and peace activist who gained worldwide fame as the founder, co-lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles.
His 1971 single "Imagine" has been described as an "atheist anthem". He sings about his beliefs in the song "God", in which he states, "I don't believe in" magic, I Ching, the Bible, tarot, Jesus, Buddha, mantra, the Gita and yoga.
