Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke to his members during the Covenant Hour of Prayer. He spoke about Obedience and gave them reasons why they need to be obedient to the calling and dictates of God. According to him, nothing commits God for our desired change of story like our obedience. Whatsoever He tells us to do,we should do it if we truly want a change of story.
"Why do you call me Lord, Lord if you won’t do what I tell you? What you call me won’t change your story, it’s doing what I tell you that will," he said
The man of God however revealed what brought his church to Canaanland. He said that raw obedience brought this church to this place, that appear very costly and senseless. "All I heard God say was “This is the place”, contrary to my little knowledge of church growth, contrary to what I had thought all those years. This is the place, it might not look so to anybody but this is the place," he revealed.
Speaking further, he said that you cannot tell what is in obedience until you have obeyed. Too many things came out of that simple obedience. Obedience speaks louder than voice and God does not only answer prayers, he also responds to our acts of obedience.
In conclusion, he revealed that we serve a God of knowledge by whom actions are weighed. He is not waiting for our words, He is marking our actions. God marks our actions to determine his manifestations in our lives.
