Churches that their Founders are dead but are still progressing in Nigeria

Even though it is something common these days if the leader of a church dies, the church stops functioning and becomes something of the past.

But here we will be taking look at some Pastors / Church leaders who died, but their church is still alive and functioning well. 

1. Joseph Ayo Babalola

Joseph Ayo Babalola was the founder of Christ Apostolic Church widely known by it's acronym CAC in Nigeria. During his lifetime, he was credited with healing and deliverance power. 

He formed CAC in the year 1940 with some Pastors which include Pastor J.B. Akinleye and Pastor D.O. Odubanjo. 

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola died in the year 1959 but his church did not die along with him. Christ Apostolic Church has grown widely over the years with many churches under it. 

2. Samuel Oshoffa

Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa was the founder of the Celestial Church of Christ known as CCC. He founded Celestial Church of Christ in 1947.

Samuel Oshoffa died in a traffic accident in 1985 but his church is still alive today.

3. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi

Pa Akindayomi was the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He started the church as an independent prayer fellowship known as the Glory of God Fellowship. The prayer fellowship metamorphosed into the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1952.

He died in 1980 and was succeeded by Pastor Adeboye as the General Overseer of RCCG.

Even though the founder of RCCG is dead the church is still alive and progressing. RCCG now have over 2000 parishes in all of Nigeria.
