TOPIC: ONE NOT FAITHFUL TO GOD CANNOT BE FAITHFUL TO MAN
THURSDAY 4TH FEBRUARY, 2021
Meditation:
“It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage, Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” (Daniel 6:1-4)
Today’s Text: Daniel 6:1-28:
Daniel had many reasons to disobey and even deny God but he remained firm. God honoured and exalted him for that faithfulness. The same excellent spirit that was in Daniel ought to be in all believers today, to distinguish us. As Daniel’s enemies could find no reasons to accuse him, so should it be for us today who serve God. We can grow an excellent spirit and live above board.
The three Hebrew youths were faithful to the end (Daniel 3:16-18). They stood their grounds against an ungodly decree to serve an idol. Their minds were made up before their trial. They did not need time to make up their minds. Faithfulness does not need consultation. It is a firm, irrevocable stand for truth and righteousness no matter the cost and we cannot run away from it. It cost Joseph, Moses, Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego.
Men and women have suffered on account of faithfulness. Think of Russian Christians who were slaughtered for their faith in Christ. Don’t quit the church because you are persecuted or because someone stepped on your toes. Stand faithful in your call and ministry and the crown of life will be yours.
Revelation 2:10b: “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”We all want and look out for a faithful pastor, faithful worshipper, faithful usher, faithful husband, faithful wife, faithful worker, teacher, etc, but the faithfulness that matters most is faithfulness towards God. This is the foundation of all other faithfulness. If one is not faithful to God, one cannot be truly faithful to men. Keep doing what God has asked you to do. Let us be faithful to Him.
Prayers:
1.Pray for grace to remain faithful to God at all times no matter the cost.
2.Ask God to help you remain faithful in your dealings with other men.
Confession:
Oh Lord, I resolve to remain faithful every single time, to keep on obeying your instructions no matter the cost.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
