It is no longer news that one of the Father's of Faith, Dr. David Yonggi Cho recently went to be with the Lord. He passed on to glory at age 85, on the 14th of September 2021.
Many people expressed their condolences and spoke of the things he was able to accomplish, both verbally and on social media. He was the Pastor and Co-founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God) and it was formerly the world's largest single congregation.
Here are some popular pastors in Nigeria that spoke and expressed their condolences regard the man of God who passed away few days ago.
Pastor E. A Adeboye
In 2013, Pastor Adeboye and his wife went on a mission trip to visit Seoul, South Korea.
Below Dr. David Yonggi Cho asked Pastor Adeboye to pray for him.
According to Church Gist, Pastor Adeboye mentioned that he had been a G.O for five years but the church wasn't growing. He then heard about Dr. David Yonggi Cho and went to see him.
Bishop David Oyedepo
The founder and senior pastor of Living Faith Tabernacle World-wide, Bishop David Oyedepo said, "Don't turn anybody departure into a message. That's not the problem. Somebody went to Yonggi's place, he said he wants to talk about Iraq. Youggi Cho said, look people are sick, they are hungry, they don't know anything about Iraq. Preach their escape to them. Drama took place in that church, while he was preaching Yonggi Cho was interpreting the message. He took up the message that day and the man doesn't understand Korean so when he saw people clapping, he said but you said they won't like the message. He said they like it." Pastor Benny Hinn
Pastor Benny said, "I had a meeting in South Korea and I paid a visit to Dr. Yonggi Cho one early morning. Breakfast was served and I was asked to pray but I declined and asked Dr. Yonggi Cho to pray for the food because I respected his presence. Yonggi Cho stretched his hand to pray and the prayer lasted for eight hours." Pastor Benny said I have never seen this before and from that day he feared Yonggi Cho.
