The goal of some Muslims is to see the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in their dream.
This goal has brought some doubt to the mind of those Muslims, they keep asking themself how can they really be sure it is the Prophet they actually see let assume their dream comes true.
The answer is yes Muslims can dream and see the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in their dream.
What are the Islamic back up for this?
Hadith from Abu Qatadah said the Prophet says “Whoever sees me in a dream actually sees me in truth.”
Another narration said:
“Whoever sees me in a dream will see me when awake. Satan cannot put on my appearance.”
All these Hadith are from the book Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah).
From this hadith, Muslims should have rest of mind that whenever they see the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in their dream, it is actually the Prophet not anyone else.
But it is only the devoted Muslims that can see the Prophet in their dream.
If your goal is to see him in your dream, you have the assurance from him already that it is possible. You should now increase your Ibadah (worship) and stay away from sins.
