We have come across different meanings of this particular verse of the scripture which states "There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty." (Prov 11:24).
'Scatters' here can imply giving out, taking care of the less privileged, and many more kind acts. But today, I will love to open your mind to a new interpretation of this verse.
Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 says "1. Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you. 2. But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead. (NLT)". This passage tells us more about what the word 'scatters' means according to Proverbs 11:24.
According to Finance Dictionary, An investment is a purchase that is completed with money that has the potential to produce income or a profit. You can invest in landed properties, buy stocks, invest in other people's upcoming businesses or ideas. This will go a long way in helping you to increase abundantly.
As Christians, we should learn to make investments, and create other sources of income. Serving God does not necessarily demand you be poor. As we give to the poor and take care of the less privileged, we should also try to make legitimate investments.
