Yesterday, the minister of education mallam Adamu Adamu made a statement saying the date of resumption will be review due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many Nigerians misinterpret his words by saying he changed the resumption date which happens to be on 18 January, 2022.
Mr. Sani Aliyu, the national coordinator of the presidential tasks force on Covid-19 stated during the press meeting in Abuja yesterday that the resumption of schools still stands on 18 January.
He further said, what minister of education meant by reviewing is looking into the date to make sure that all students will be safe. Minister of education did not change the date.
The government will review the date once the date is review if there is a need to change the resumption date then government will announce the new date but as for now the resumption date still remain 18 January, 2021.
Therefore, the resumption date still remain 18 January, 2021 unless the minister of education gives different directive for resumption of schools on Monday 18.
