The Igbos live in the Eastern part of Nigeria. They are people with rich cultural heritage and traditions. The traditional attires, language, ambitious spirit, and food are few things you should know about the Igbo person.
The Igbo traditional attire for ladies include blouses, wrapper, dresses, and head ties. They are usually made from fabrics such as George, damask, lace, silk, and Isiagu but the most common ones are George and Isiagu.
When Igbo ladies especially the brides stepped out in these attires, they always looked gorgeous, elegant, and attractive.
Another important aspect of their costume is the accessories. Their accessories include orange coral beads worn on the neck which are usually large and prominent to complement the ensemble. On the wrist, they wear ivory wrist bands, bracelets, bangles, silver or gold chains.
Other accessories include the handbag which should be small and match the outfit the person is wearing. The head ties are usually a George scarf or cap made from coral beads.
You can also see some of them carrying leather hand fans or what they call "odu inyinya". The heels should be low to allow the lady to dance without any inconveniences.
Let's take a look at the five styles below:
1. Maria Chike Benjamin representing her culture through her attire.
The ex-bbnaija housemate is biracial, one of the parents is from Imo states, an Igbo state. Maria made us green with envy as she stepped out in a green George dress adorned with lovely embroideries on the breast and the leg regions. Her face beat was lit, the makeup artist turned her into a beautiful doll. The designer highlighted her creativity with the dress. The dress flattered her hourglass shape.
Beautiful Igbo ladies, can recreate these looks by Maria? It's the dress details for me.

The beautiful actress and mother of one stunned in Isiagu dress. The designs are well designed, with gold embroidery on the breast region. She adorned her neck with orange mixed with gold coral beads, her hair was packed in a back bun and also adorned with orange coral beads. On her wrist, she wore ivory beads. The dress is glamorous and the wearer did justice to it.
