4 Reasons Why You Should Consider Having A Court Wedding

Are you about to tie the knot with your significant other? If so, you may be coming to the realisation that an elaborate wedding has many cons, while if you’ve been looking for an alternative, there are many pros to having a court marriage. We’ve pulled together the top reasons why all couples should seriously consider having a court wedding for the upcoming nuptials.

Court wedding is a perfectly legal and respectable wedding, so it just depends on how you want to spend your money. If you don't mind not having a huge church wedding and being the center of attention, it might be just the ticket for you.

If you prefer a wedding by a pastor, you can still have a small, private wedding in the pastor's study, your own home, or even in the church just without all of the flowers, bridesmaids, decoration, and so on.

Weddings that cost thousands of dollars and millions of headaches are not necessary.

There are a lot of reasons why a court wedding could be considered.

1. It costs less.

2. It takes less effort since there isn’t a lot of planning.

3. It takes less time.

4. It is pretty straightforward.

So yes, a court wedding is good if all the above mean a lot to you. Provided you have all the necessary documents as required by your local court, you should be done in not more than 60 days.

However, it is not as memorable as a regular wedding ceremony, let alone a destination wedding. If you can afford to have a wedding ceremony, do it. You would still need a representative from the court at your wedding (in some jurisdictions), and would still have to sign a few legal documents. It doesn’t have to be lavish, it just has to be meaningful. A wedding ceremony is a celebration and commemoration of the love and commitment that two people share.

Weddings are a celebration of a very important event. To me, a problem with some, is they become more costly than the couple can handle. You can never replace certain memories or experiences. It is not always about money.
