Marriage, the union of two people, is a personal, but not private, relationship with great significance in our society. Marriage is good for humans because it provides the optimal conditions for bearing and raising children. Childbearing is largely seen as a ‘must’ for couples in most parts of the world, hence, marriages without children hardly survive. This is the reason why couples become worried when they spend years together without having children in their union.
Recently, a 70-year-old Indian woman identified as Juvenben Rabari has given birth to a baby 45 years after she got married to her husband, Maldhari. According to Daily Mail Newspaper, Rabari is from a small village called Mora in the Gujurat region of India. She spent 45 years without a child but just two days ago, God has blessed her with a bouncing baby boy.
It was gathered that throughout these 45 years, Rabari has tried different medications to see that she conceives, but all her effort proved abortive. At a time, some doctors told her that she cannot conceive because she is too old, but she did not give up on her dreams. She finally got pregnant through IVF and delivered a baby recently.
There are some important lessons couples should learn from this woman. Firstly, we all agreed that children are the priority of every marriage, but sometimes couples spend many years without having children. Some may decide to end their union because of this problem. We should stop considering the lack of children as a major issue of concern in our marriages because God bestows his mercy to his servants at the right time.
Secondly, we should also learn that perseverance is the key to every successful marriage. We should not allow our union to break up because of some problems that are beyond our control. The patience shown by this couple taught us that marriage is all about supporting each other during difficult periods.
