Seeing minors having lovers is not an appealing societal norms, and while most people believe at the age of eighteen a child is mature enough to go into relationships, here in Africa the reverse is the case. Most African parents don't even want their female child have a boyfriend until she's done or almost done with tertiary education.
A video of a 16 year old Stephanie Nwankwo surfaced online, in the clip, the young lady played a prank on her parents, she started by boldly telling her mum she has a boyfriend. First she paused then gave her the African mama look; like are you okay "
And while the discussion continued, her mum, still looking surprised, decided to involve her husband in the conversation.
First he lectured her on why she needs to face her studies while she's young and then baba voiced out by saying he's hungry.
