Lizze is born with a rare Congenitial disease called magfarnoid progeriod lipodystrophy syndrome which prevents her from gaining weight and accumulating body fat.
As of this, lizze has been bullied since child hood and also faced cyber bullying which made her take up being a motivational speaker. ￼
￼Ever since she was dubbed the "World's Ugliest Woman" in a video posted on YouTube in 2006, when she was 17, Velásquez has spoken out against bullying.
