The judge, Mr Murtala Nasir, ordered the accused, Musa, to stop going to Jamila Yusuf's house where they were staying during the wedding.
He also ordered the complainant, Yusuf, to use N10,000 paid by Musa as his lobola to support their children until the end of March.
The judge advised each of the parties to follow the legal process of obtaining custody of the children if necessary.
Earlier, the complainant, Yusuf, who lived in the capital Kaduna with her husband, had been dragging her to court demanding an end to their marriage for allegedly insulting and disobeying her parents.
Yusuf prayed for the court to order Musa to pay him N5,000 each to take care of their eight children.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the case had been heard in court earlier and that it had been postponed to allow the parties to resolve their differences, but to no avail.
