International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl Child.
Eliminate the economic exploitation of child labour and protect young girls at work. Also, eradicate violence against girls.
What does the international day of the girl mean?
International Day Of The Girl exists to solely recognize girls' rights and the several unique challenges girls face all over the world. The International Day Of The Girl is meant to also promote the empowerment of young girls everywhere, while also advocating for the attainment of their basic human rights, like education and bodily autonomy.
* On International Day of the Girl Child, 11th October, amplify the voices and rights of girls everywhere.
The theme for this year, “My Voice, Our Equal Future”, reimagines a better world inspired and led by adolescent girls, as part of the global Generation Equality movement.
Girls worldwide are demanding a life free from gender-based violence, access to health, skills, recognition and investment as leaders of social change.
To all the beautiful ladies out there, I wish you all a happy international day of the girl child.
