The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old man identified as Okpegboro Awwerosou who allegedly butchered his friend and sold the organs to a ritualist. Linda Ikeji Blog reported that the man is a resident of Mile 12, Sagbama Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the suspect invited the deceased to his residence to introduce him to a business which according to him, is flourishing. However, just two weeks after arrival of the deceased, Okpegboro used a mortar pestle to kill him and cut his body into pieces. He then assembled the valuable organs into a sack and discarded the remaining ones.
While being interrogated by the police, the suspect confessed that after he killed his friend, he lied to his neighbours that the deceased had travelled back to his hometown. But he ran out of luck when one of the neighbours entered his room and saw blood everywhere.
"Upon interrogation, before he was handed over to the police, the suspect confessed that he had sold the vital organs of his friend to a pastor in Port Harcourt who is currently at large for ritual purposes." Police spokesman revealed.
