March 12th, 2021.

Does the smell of your feet give you cause for concern?

You may have noticed that, especially when your feet are sweating, they give off an undesirable odour.

A major factor concerning the smell of your feet are the foods you tend to consume more of.

To fight off smelly feet, you need to eat more foods that contain nutrients that reduce body odour,

Nutrients such as B-vitamins, zinc and chlorophyll, can help you naturally with undesirable odours which your body, including your feet, tends to give off.

Here are three types of these foods:

1.     Foods Which Are High In Zinc: The nutrient zinc is shown through research to help you control unpleasant odours emanating from your body. Foods that contain high zinc content include red meat, beans, and dairy products.

2.     Foods Which Are Rich In B-Vitamins: Foods such as liver, kidney, dark green vegetables such as spinach, dairy products like milk and cheese, and fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and tuna, all contain choline and B-1, vitamins which help with body odour. Adjust your diet to contain more of these foods if your currently battle with foot odour.

3.     Foods Which Are Rich In Chlorophyll: What chlorophyll does for your body is to flush toxins out from your blood. It also serves to naturally deodorize your body, which can extend to your feet, helping you fight foot odour.

You should eat more foods that contain chlorophyll, including spinach, broccoli, and avocado.

Excessive sweating also contributes to body odour which can extend to your feet, and spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, processed foods, etc are the main types of foods which can cause you to sweat a lot through their high levels of salt.

You’ll also need to limit your intake of refined carbohydrates, as well as foods that contain added sugars.

If you’ve worn shoes for a long time, ensure you air them out and wash your feet immediately.

You should also make sure that you drink plenty of water so that your body stays properly hydrated.
