His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday announced the release of 553 prisoners from Dubai's correctional and punitive establishments ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Yesterday, the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has ordered the release of 479 inmates. A lot of prioners have arrested in Dubai during the past few years and many have been sentenced to death but prisoners who were imprisoned have a chance to walk out a free man in few days.
The propose of releasing prisoners before the Ramadan festival is to give the prisoners a chance to change into a new leaf and get the chance to take care of their families and celebrate the Ramadan festival as a free man.
Inmates whom have commited offences that are not too painful or disappointing would have a higher chance of walking out the prison cell as a free man but we can only pray that people who were wrongfully jailed should be released very soon.
