The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 general elections, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians irrespective of their political parties, to work together in fighting against the security challenges affecting the country.
The former Governor of Anambra State identified the issues affecting the country as insecurity, poverty, and unemployment.
According to Obi, Nigeria is fast becoming a failed state, adding that Nigerians should not allow “downward spiral should not be allowed to continue.
2) Buhari’s nepotism, sectionalism driving agitations for Nigeria’s break up – Abaribe
The Senate Minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, alleged on Wednesday President Muhammadu Buhari was leading the country to war and disintegration.
Abaribe, who is one the fierce critics of the Buhari’s administration, blamed the killings in several parts of the country on the President’s “nepotism and sectionalism.”
Speaking at the 2021 law week of the Imo State Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA), the Senate Minority Leader said President Buhari’s “enthronement of sectionalism and nepotism has caused the country to be on a freefall.”
He stressed that the activities of the herdsmen had equally helped in fueling the clamour for the country’s disintegration.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its current challenges.
Obasanjo stated this during the 108th Nigeria Baptist Convention held at the Baptist International Conference Centre along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He said the country would not be consumed by the challenges.
Obasanjo said: “I’m an incurable optimist about a number of things, but particularly about Nigeria.
“The situation may be threatening, we won’t be consumed. There will be light at the end of the tunnel.
4) Busted: Amotekun, Oodua Peoples Congress, Vigilantes Arrest 6 Bandits In Oyo Forest With 183 Cows, Weapons, Cash
Operatives of Oyo State Security Network Agency, popularly called Amotekun Corps in collaboration with Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) on Thursday morning apprehended six bandits at the Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo state.
A statement by the commander of the Amotekun in the state, Col. Olayinka said the operation was carried out while on their joint routine patrol in the early hours of 29th of April, 2021 along two routes within the LGA.

The senior pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has declared that the enemies of Nigeria are within the leadership of the country.
The clergyman made the submission in a Twitter statement on Thursday in which he lamented about the current challenges facing the nation and its citizens.
Suleman in his submission however added that all those who don’t wish Nigeria well are in for big trouble.
6) Resign Now Or Be Impeached – Fr Mbaka Tells Buhari
The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, has called for President Muhammadu Buhari to be impeached due to the increase in security challenges in Nigeria.
The cleric in a statement noted that President Buhari has failed the country woefully, hence he should resign now.
Mbaka while speaking at the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, wondered why Buhari has remained silent despite the incessant killings in the country.
According to the cleric, Nigerians are crying because they don’t have a leader and Buhari should resign or be impeached.
Mbaka who spoke at the Adoration Ministry in Enugu State on Wednesday noted that Buhari has refused to label killer herdsmen as ‘terrorists’ while his government is busy killing innocent Nigerians in the country.
According to him, until the Buhari-led government finds something for the youths, they are going to face disaster.
He also warned those who will attack him to desist, if not, they will face God’s wrath.
7) APC won’t govern Nigeria beyond 2023—Makinde
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has declared that the maladministration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will not extend beyond 2023.
He noted that Nigerians were already tired of the party and would kick it out of power at the polls.
He said there was an urgent need to address the challenges of insecurity and economic recession.
Makinde told the PDP to show the entire masses that it was prepared take power back at the centre.
