Bandits kidnap newly mobilised corps member in zamfara

A newly mobilised corps member, Iorliam Jennifer Awashima, has been kidnapped on her way to Kebbi State where she was posted. 

Bandits attacked the vehicle Ms Awashima was traveling in along a highway in Tsafe Local Government of Zamfara State on Tuesday.

Peoples Gazette learnt the 29-year-old Ms Awashima, who graduated from the English Department of Benue State University, had boarded a vehicle from Benue state to Kebbi when bandits attacked the vehicle.

Soldier Clash With Youths In Imo, Houses Burnt

There was tension in Etekuru, in the Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on Wednesday when soldiers and youths in the community clashed.

A soldier had earlier been ambushed and killed, while his rifle was stolen, The Punch reports.

In a reprisal, soldiers invaded the community and burnt houses. The fight came two weeks after soldiers clashed with youths of Izombe, in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state.
