On Friday, the 12th March 2021, the Ibadan Zone of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Fifty Seven suspected internet fraudsters at an hotel which seems to be their hideout. Two pump rifles were also recovered during the raid by the (EFCC) Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions officers.
It was gathered that the successful operation was due to actionable intel from an informant leading to the arrests and linking the suspects to fraudulent activities ranging from dating love scams online to obtaining money by false pretense and other cyber crimes.
Along with the two pump rifles, four exotic cars were also recovered during the operation, so were several incriminating documents.
We await further information on how the story unfolds in the days to come
