Video: After Regaining His Freedom From Kidnappers, See What This Boy Did When He Saw His Family

Gbolahan Ajibola, the 13-year-old boy, who was kidnapped by some gunmen on April 11th at his residence in Destiny Estate, Obada-Oko in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, has regained his freedom.

According to media reports, Gbolahan, his mother and grandmother were returning home from their shop after they had attended a church programme before the gunmen struck. The gunmen had laid ambush for them as they were returning to their house on that fateful night.

It was reported that they were hiding in a bush close to Gbolahan's house, and when the boy came down from his mother's car to open the gate, the kidnappers swooped into action and whisked him away.

The kidnappers later reached out to the boy's family and demanded a ransom of N50 million, but it is not clear whether Gbolahan's family paid the kidnappers any money before they released the boy.

The release of the boy was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command.

In a statement which was issued by Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, it was confirmed that the boy has been released and has reunited with his family.

In a now viral video, Gbolahan was overwhelmed with emotions when he reunited with his family after regaining his freedom.

In the 27-seconds video, his family members were seen waiting outside for the arrival of Gbolahan. And when a car stopped in front of the house, they began shouting for joy and saying - Gbolahan is back! Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Jesus!

Then a lady rushed and opened the door of the car for him, and Gbolahan ran out and hugged his family as they all ran to welcome him. Gbolahan burst into tears when he saw his family, and his family joined him in crying. Their tears could only be described as tears of joy.

It was so touching seeing the boy and his family members this way. Maybe when he was in the kidnappers' den, he probably thought he would never see his family again. I can imagine the trauma his parents must have gone through that period when the boy was still with the kidnappers, the fear of whether they will see their son again.

That is why they couldn't contain the excitement of seeing their son again. And the boy couldn't control the joy of seeing his family again - the joy was so overwhelming that it made him burst into tears.

The State Police Command spokesman, Oyeyemi that so far no arrest has been made. He also said that he is not aware of any ransom being paid for the release of the boy, because there is no way anyone would involve the police in paying a ransom to kidnappers.

We hope the kidnappers will be found and made to face the full wrath of the law. We are happy for the boy, and pray nothing of such will happen to him again.

Please drop some nice words for the boy and his family, and also share the article so that others can contribute too.
