During a police raid in a Lagos community, an 18-year-old girl was murdered

Monsurat Ojuade, an 18-year-old girl, was slain by police officers in the Ijesha area of Surulere, Lagos.


When the youngster and her older sister ran into the premises of their residence on Friday night, they were claimed to have been shot.

On Sunday, when TheCable went towards the deceased's house on Mobaji Street in Ijesha, Surulere, numerous sympathisers, including church members, came to console the family.

The deceased's parents were unavailable for comment, and the deceased's older sister, who fled home with the victim, also declined to talk.


Monsurat and her sister were ready to close their mother's provision shop, which is adjacent to the house, after they saw people running inspired look, according to Tosin Ojuade, one of several deceased's sisters.

She stated that the sisters rushed into the house, and that when their mother, who was washing clothes in the property, attempted to latch the gate from the outside, a police officer attempted to force it open.

The mother heard a gunshot, and the bullet penetrated the deceased's thighs, according to her.
