It is very sad when the of a student that was killed by a stray bullet that was allegedly fired by a soldier. The student that was killed was one of the Imo State University, Owerri. The incident happened close to the Douglas House, the seat of government. The name of the student that was killed is Divine Nwaneri. Divine is 24-year-old and was in 100-level studying Soil Science and Biotechnology.
Late Divine Nwaneri was born in Umukam which was in Obollo Community in the Isiala Mbano Council of Imo state. The student was allegedly shot by the soldier on guard when she was being driven in a car. The stray bullet hit her and the driver that was driving her where the driver survive it but unfortunately she didn't survive it. This incident happened around 10pm when she was going home.
After the sad news broke out, the students of Imo State University and some youths in the state then react to it where they took to the street and engage in a peaceful protest over the heartbreaking death of the beautiful lady that was killed. And during the peaceful protest, one of the protesters who was a student of the Imo State University was seen carrying a cardboard with a message requesting Justice for death of Divine Nwaneri.
The 24 years old lady celebrated her matriculation ceremony on the 7th of February 2021. On her matriculation day, Divine posted some photos of herself on her Instagram page where she looks cheerful and very excited on her matriculation gown. The death of this beautiful lady is very painful to the extent that some students were seen crying during the peaceful protest. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
